(Tuition fee is not stated)
Per session

Course Description

As part of the South Australia Police (SAPOL) recruit selection procedure for police officer and protective security officer positions, applicants are first required to pass a series of literacy and numeracy tests.

TAFE SA conduct four of the required tests at the Adelaide City Campus. The four tests have been developed in consultation with SAPOL and cover spelling, reading comprehension, numeracy and written comprehension/writing.

TAFE SA will conduct the tests on Fridays each fortnight commencing at either 9:00am or 1:30pm.

You must be 18 years of age or over to sit the tests.

Applicants who have achieved an ATAR (Australia Tertiary Admissions Rank) of 70 or more within the last three years or who hold a bachelor’s degree or higher from an Australian university (recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework) are not required to complete the recruitment test before submitting their application to SAPOL.

NOTE: SAPOL advises that a criminal or serious traffic offence history may deem you ineligible to apply as a police recruit, community constable or protective security officer. If you have concerns about previous criminal or serious traffic offences, you should discuss them with South Australia Police Recruiting Section (Ph 7322 3353) prior to undertaking the TAFE SA literacy and numeracy tests.
