History

In the early 70’s, a man named Fernando Viray noticed that the youth of Tarlac brainy with a hefty appetite for life aspirations, but poverty hinders them to reach the best version they can become because very few can afford to go to college. This situation has inspired him to open a vocational school to enhance and develop their technical skills and expertise.

In 1978, Karilagan Academia de Artes de Hogar (Karilagan Academy of Arts and a Home) was born. It offered 6 months to 1-year courses such as Secretarial, Cosmetology, Dress Making, and Tailoring.

In 2001, the school was restarted by Teressa Ocampo under the name Tarlac School of Arts and Trades(TSAT) [former name of Tarlac State University]. Today TSAT remains undaunted and continues to spread the charity virus thru affordable and high quality technical and vocational education. To date, the School stands proud at their acquired 6-story building located at corner Panganiban St., San Nicolas Tarlac City the increasing demand for TechVocs School paved the way to the birth of Guimba Nueva Ecija with the same course offering.
