What does Tarlac State University stand for?

Tarlac State University (TSU) was established in 1906 as the former elementary trade school, later progressing to a secondary school in 1909. In 1959, the Philippine Congress approved that Tarlac Trade School to be renamed as Tarlac School of Arts and Trades (TSAT). In 1965, it was then changed to Tarlac College of Technology until it received its university status by virtue of  Republic Act No. 6764 of 1989. 

TSU has three campuses: the Main Campus (7 Colleges), the Lucinda Campus (2 Colleges), and the San Isidro Campus (2 Colleges). The university offers 66 courses, 5 international programs, 19 graduate programs, 1 post baccalaureate program, 3 certificate program, and 2 secondary programs. Some of the international programs are the Doctorate of Philosophy in Business Administration and Master of Arts in Education, major in Educational Management. TSU also offers an English Language Proficiency Program and Language Proficiency Programs in Filipino, Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, Italian, and Arabic.

The institution has won awards and recognitions such as the State Universities and Colleges (SUC) Level 3A, garnering a Center of Development in Electrical Engineering from the Commission on Higher Education (CHEd). It also has accredited Graduate Programs in Engineering, Education, Business and Accountancy, Computer Studies, Architecture, Arts and Social Sciences, Technology, and Chemistry by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP). Furthermore, TSU is a distinguished member of the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC), the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), the International Association of University Presidents (IAUP) and the Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific (AUAP).
