Tayabas Western Academy (TWA) is a private school in the municipality of
Candelaria, Quezon. It was founded in 1928 by Inigo Javier with Vicente Villar. Aside from TWA, Mr. Javier also helped in starting several educational institutions in Luzon, like the Batangas Eastern Academy, and the Oriental Institute of Technology of the Philippines.
At present, the academy provides programs from preschool to college. It has a Senior High School (SHS) department offering
Academic and
Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) strands. For college students, TWS has degree courses in
Accountancy, Business Administration, Office Administration, and Teacher Education. Additionally, a
General Clerical Course is available to take for only a year.
Tayabas Western Academy and its programs are duly recognized by the Department of Education
(DepEd) and the Commission on Higher Education
(CHED). TWB is also a member of the Candelaria Private Schools Association
(CAPRISA).
