The establishment of the TESDA Women’s Center (TWC) started in 1993. The Exchange of Notes for the project was done between 1996 and 1997. TWC was initially called as the National Vocational Training and Development Center for Women.
TWC has trained thousands of women, not just Filipinas but also women from across the Asia Pacific. All these women are equipped with skills and knowledge in their chosen qualification. The center has also expanded the capablities of women by developing their skills as well as enhancing their expertise and potentials to be productive in order to help uplift the lives of Filipinos.Their trainers have studied abroad to further develop their skills and gain the knowledge needed in their fields in close coordination with the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
