This pre-service course is intended to prepare psychology graduates for employment as school psychologists within the government and non-government sectors. The course will expose students to a range of relevant theories, processes and practices appropriate for the provision of psychological services to schools, teachers and students. This course introduces students to psychological and educational assessment, counselling, and clinical issues that address an understanding of many childhood disorders and difficulties. At the conclusion of the course, students should be able to demonstrate competency in psychological assessment, counselling and behaviour management as well as understanding the management options for clinical issues.
