Course Description

The structured program includes the nationally recognised core legal subjects (the 'Priestley 11', which include Torts, Criminal Law and Procedure, Property, Equity, Corporations Law, Administrative Law, Federal and State Constitutional Law, Civil Procedure, Evidence and Ethics, and Professional Responsibility). You also have the opportunity to broaden your legal knowledge or pursue areas of interest via a range of optional units. The student cohort consists of mature-minded postgraduate students. Many have spent time in the workforce and are passionate about making a difference. The program of study encourages complex discussions about the law and how it can influence change. JD students also gain valuable skills such as drafting, legal research and advocacy.
