This double major provides you with the depth of knowledge and skills required to become a professional economist or pursue economic studies at PhD level. You'll study microeconomic and macroeconomic frameworks to analyse economic problems and produce and communicate economic research for fellow economists, business professionals and policymakers. You'll also develop the capacity to analyse economic issues pertaining to domestic and world economies. Economics is at the forefront of public policy issues such as economic growth, the stability of the economy, regulating financial institutions, resource taxation, financing education and retirement income planning.
