Universidad de Zamboanga (formerly Zamboanga A.E. Colleges) is a private, non-sectarian institution in Zamboanga City. It was founded in 1948 as the
Zamboanga Arturo Eustaquio Colleges (ZAEC), offering secondary and tertiary programs. As years passed, the college expanded and added new programs. It received its university status in 2005 changing its name to Universidad de Zamboanga. Besides the
Main Campus and the
City Campus, UZ has branches located in
Ipil and
Pagadian; and it also provides high school programs through the
Universidad de Zamboanga Technical High School.
At present, the college department is divided into seven departments:
Allied Medicine; Education, Art and Sciences; Business Management; Criminal Justice; Engineering, Information and Communication Technology; Technical Education; and
a new addition, the School of Dentistry. The university also has a
School of Graduate Studies, offering graduate and post-graduate programs in the fields of Teacher Education, Business Administration, Library Science, Public Administration, and Criminal Justice.
