What does University of Bristol stand for?

University of Bristol is a public research university in the United Kingdom. It was founded in 1876 as the University College, Bristol. The idea of the foundation of the university came from then-headmaster of Clifton College, John Percival, when he wrote to the Oxford colleges, noting that the provinces lacked a university culture.

The University has five main faculties with more than a combined 20 schools under these faculties. It offers undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate programs in the fields of arts, engineering, medicine, science, law, education, and business.

University of Bristol has created a rich international community by attracting students from all over the world. It aims to equip these students with the knowledge and skills to be successful in their chosen careers.
