The University of Makati (UMak) is a local public university located in the city of Makati. It was founded in 1972 as the Makati Polytechnic College under the Municipal Resolution No. 242 Ordinance No. 64, and then elevated into its university status in 1992 under the name Pamantasan ng Makati, until it was changed in its present name in 2002.
UMak has 12 colleges, 2 centers, and 1 school for its undergraduate and graduate degrees. It also has a Senior High School department, being one of the first universities in the Philippines to do so. Aside from its curricula, the university also boasts of its high-class buildings and facilities composed of 3 academic buildings, a 12-storey Health and Physical Science Building (HPSB), and a stadium.
Since its establishment, UMak has successfully honed talents and molded globally competitive individuals. This is evident with its consistent high percentage of passers in board licensure exams and graduates who are bringing pride to the country by winning in different international competitions.
