University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) is a regional state university in
Davao. It was established in 1978 through
Batas Pambansa Blg. 12, bringing together four Davao region higher education institutions:
Mindanao State University - Davao Branch (MSUDB), the University of the Philippines - Master of Management Program in Davao (UPMMPD), the Davao School of Arts and Trades (DSAT), and
the Davao National Regional Agricultural School (DNRAS). In its first years, USeP offered courses in engineering, forestry, agriculture, and humanities. As it developed over the years, the institution began to expand its curriculum. It was able to establish linkages with various local and international organizations such as World Bank, Philippines-Australia Basic Education Assistance for Mindanao, Southeast Asian Ministries of Education Organization, Regional Center for Vocational and Technical Education and Training in Brunei Darussalam (SEAMEO VOCTECH), and Philippines-Australia Human Resource Development Facility.
