University of the Assumption (UA) is a private Archdiocesan Catholic institution on January 12, 1963 by Bishop Emilio Cinense, DD and Msgr. Pedro Puno. It is the first Catholic Archdiocesan university in the Philippines and in Asia.
UA is open to students in primary, junior, and senior high school, as well as tertiary education. It offers programs in Business, Architecture, Communication, Engineering, Hotel & Restaurant Management, Education, Psychology and Theological Studies for undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.
As an Archdiocesan Catholic Educational Institution, the university aims to become a leader in developing academic excellence, Christian formation, and community service. It boasts of several recognitions from prominent institutions including a Level 2 accreditation status in its Grade School and High School Departments, as well as its Education, Business Administration, and Art & Science college programs from the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU). It was also established as a Catholic Cultural Center by the Commission on Culture of the Episcopal Conference of the Philippines.
