ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Requirements

Freshmen
  • Senior high school student expecting to graduate in 2018 from a DepEd-accredited high school or an accredited secondary school abroad; OR
  • Graduate of a DepEd- accredited high school or accredited secondary school abroad; OR
  • PEPT Certified Eligible for college; AND
  • With final grades for three (3) high school years preceding the year of graduation; AND
  • Must not have taken any college subject/s prior to taking the UPCAT; AND
  • Must not have taken the UPCAT previously.

Graduate Studies

Master of Business Administration
  • Bachelor’s degree in any field (copy of transcript required)
  • Work experience
  • Accomplished application materials
  • Graduate Program Admission Test (GPAT) results
Local applicants need to take the GPAT. The test covers logic, basic quantitative skills and language/reading comprehension. Overseas applicants are required to submit GMAT and TOEFL scores.
Applicants are required to have basic proficiency in accounting, economics, and mathematics. Workshops are offered for students whose background show deficiencies in these areas.

Master of Science in Computer Science
  • Accomplished Application Form (MsCsGradApp_UPC – 031611).
  • Transcript of Records: 1 official copy bearing the school seal and the registrar’s signature and 2 photocopies.
  • 2 recent passport size photo
  • Certificate of English Proficiency – TOEFL Official score (For Foreign Applicants only whose native language or medium of instruction in secondary school and college is not English)
  • A score of at least 500 (paper-based) or 173 (computer-based) in the Test of English as a Foreign Language(Education Testing Service, Princeton, New Jersey, 08540 USA) is required.


Master of Science in Environmental Studies
  • A bachelor’s degree in the biological or physical sciences, mathematics, engineering, economics or other related fields
  • General weighted average of 2.5 or better in the undergraduate degree
  • Completed application form;
  • Original copy of the official transcript of records;
  • Recommendation letters from at least two former professors or immediate supervisors;
  • Statement of Purpose  (300-500 word essay on applicant’s academic, professional, and personal intentions and objectives  or any special interest; reasons for transfer from other graduate school);
  • Certification of proficiency in English (TOEFL) , if English is not the medium of instruction in the country of origin

ADMISSION PROCEDURES

Requirements

Freshmen
  1. Fill out Application Form 1 (UPCAT Application for Freshmen Admission) online or manually.
  2. Give the UPCAT Form 2 (Secondary School record to your high school principal or school head to be filled out.
  3. Pay the UPCAT Application fee
  4. Submit the completed UPCAT Forms 1 and 2 and all other required documents
  5. Claim your test permit
  6. Go to your designated test center on the date specified in your test permit
  7. Check UPCAT website (http://upcat.up.edu.ph) for announcements and posting of UPCAT results. A list of UP Qualifiers from your school will be sent to your principal. Individual notices will also be sent to all examinees.


Master of Science in Computer Science
  1. Request two former professors or experts in the field as references to accomplish the recommendation forms and enclose/seal these envelopes with their signature across the seal. These may be returned to the applicant or sent directly by mail to the Department of Computer Science (DCS), U.P. Cebu.
  2. Pay a non-refundable application fee of PhP100.00 for Filipino citizens or PhP200.00 for resident foreign applicants at the Cashier’s Office, UP Cebu. For non-resident foreign applicants, send a check of US $25.00 payable to the “University of the Philippines Cebu (UPC)”. Please check for announcements at the UPC website.
  3. Submit requirements to the Department of Computer Science the following requirements with your application fee receipt on or before April 30 for the 1st semester, or September 30 for the 2nd semester admission.
  4. Wait for the action on your application, which will be communicated to you by email and/or phone.

University of the Philippines Cebu (UP Cebu) is part of the the University of the Philippines System which has campuses in Diliman, Manila, Los Baños, Baguio, Pampanga, Visayas, and Mindanao. It was established in 1918, making it the oldest UP campus outside of Luzon.
