Velez College is a private institution incorporated under the Philippine Corporation Law on March 28, 1966. The institution was founded by Dr. Jacinto Velez, Sr., who at that time, was the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Cebu (Velez) General Hospital School of Nursing. Since then, it has been a witness to hundreds of nurses making a difference in the country and around the world.
In coping with the highly competitive national and international market, Velez College initially opened the College of Liberal Arts in 1966, the College of Medical Technology and the College of Nursing in 1968, and the Colleges of Medical Technology, Occupational and Physical Therapy, and other health programs in 1998. With increasing enrollment, Velez College continually updates its curricula on the degree programs being offered and upgraded school facilities.
The school has produced consistent top performers in the field of Medical Technology, Nursing, and Physical and Occupational Therapy licensure examinations in several years, and has received recognition from the Center for Higher Education (CHED) in the Visayas region.
