Villaflores College (VC) is a private, non-sectarian school in
Tanjay City, Negros Oriental. It was founded in 1952 and was known as the
Tanjay Insitute. The school was also called
The School on the Hill or the school beside the cemetery. It was established to provide quality and affordable education to the residents of Tanjay and thus equip them with the skills to become valuable members of the community. The institute was eventually renamed as recognition to the founder, Dr. Diosdado Villaflores.
At present, the college offers bachelor's degree programs in
Elementary Education, Secondary Education, and
Business Administration. VC also provides the basic education program, including Senior High School (SHS), which has the
STEM, ABM, GAS, and
TVL strands available. The school and its programs are duly recognized by the Commission on Higher Education
(CHED) and the Department of Education
(DepEd).
