Xavier School (XS) is a Jesuit-run private Catholic school exclusively for boys. Its patron saint is St. Francis Xavier, a co-founder of the Society of Jesus and one of the first Jesuit missionaries who spread the Christian faith in China. XS is one of the schools in Metro Manila that requires its students to learn Chinese in its K to 12-ready curriculum.
The school opened in 1956 in its first location in Echague, Manila with 170 Chinese immigrants living in the Philippines. By 1960, Xavier School moved to Greenhills, San Juan where they’ve seen a dramatic increase in enrollees. In 2012, the school has expanded to Sta. Rosa, Laguna with Xavier School Nuvali. Overall, both campuses have over 4,000 enrollees who enjoy the culmination of learning about the rich histories and cultures of China and the Philippines in relation to being competitive on the global stage, all while grounding themselves in Ignatian principles.
