What does Auburn University stand for?

Auburn University (AU) is a public educational institution in Alabama, United States. It was established in 1856 as the East Alabama Male College. In 1872, the school became a land-grant college through the Morrill Act and became known as Auburn University in 1960.

Auburn has 14 schools and colleges that offer undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate programs in the fields of agriculture, architecture, business, education, engineering, science, medicine, and liberal arts.
