  • Admission Requirements

    Undergraduate Programs

    • Common Application
    • All applicants must submit a 250- to 650-word essay via the Common Application. We do not accept essays submitted on paper or emailed directly to the University.
    • Transcripts from each high school attended. Transcripts must include all coursework from grades 9, 10, and 11. Twelfth (12th) grade coursework in progress should also be included.
    • Two letters of recommendation
    • SAT or ACT
    • Proof of financial responsibility showing sufficient financial support
    • Portfolio (only for the following programs)

    • Applicants to the following programs must submit a writing supplement via the Common Application
      • Custom-designed: 500- to 800-word vision statement/essay describing in detail what you want to study, what you hope to accomplish during your time in the program, and why your educational goals cannot be met by pursuing a traditional Drexel major, a double major, or a major combined with minors.
      • Max. 500 words for the ff programs: Animation & Visual Effects, Architecture, Art History, Dance, Fashion Design, Game Design & Production, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Photography, Screenwriting & Playwriting, Design & Merchandising, Entertainment & Arts Management, Film & Television, Interactive Digital Media, Music Industry, Product Design, Undeclared – Design, Undeclared – Media, Virtual Reality & Immersive Media
    • Audition (Dance majors)
    • BA/BS + MD early assurance applicants must complete the College of Medicine Supplemental Application. Refer to the BA/BS + MD Early Assurance Application Process for additional information and to access the application.

    Graduate Programs
    • Application
    • Official transcripts must be sent directly to Drexel from all the colleges/universities that you have attended. Transcripts must be submitted in a sealed envelope with the college/university seal over the flap.
    • Official copies of test results (GRE, GMAT, MAT, TOEFL, etc.) must be sent to Drexel. Refer to the Program Requirements and Deadlines to determine which tests you are required to take. Drexel's test code is 2194 for the GRE and TOEFL. Drexel's test code for the MAT is 1615.
    • Personal statement of approximately 500 words (unless specified in the requirements for your program). Refer to the Program Requirements and Deadlines for your program's specific essay topics and requirements, if applicable, before writing the essay. If your program does not have a specific essay topic, your personal statement should detail your reasons for pursuing a degree from Drexel; your short-term and long-term career plans; and how your background, experience, interests, and/or values, when combined with a Drexel degree, will enable you to pursue these goals successfully.
