Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) was established as Korea Advanced Institute of Science in February 1971 with the loan given by the United States Agency for International Development. The university aimed not only to educate young researchers in science and engineering but also to provide a solid basis for the development of future higher education institutions in Korea.
KAIST has two major campuses located in Daejeon and Seoul. The Seoul campus was known as business schools as well as the graduate schools of finance, management and information and media management while Daejeon campus is where most lectures and research activities take place. The courses are delivered by 6 colleges and 2 schools, with over 33 divisions.
