Nagoya University, also known as Meidai, is an educational institution in Japan. It was founded in 1939 and was formerly known as Nagoya Imperial University. 

Meidai offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in the fields of humanities, education, law, economics, informatics, science, medicine, engineering, and international development through its 13 faculties/graduate schools. 

Nagoya University has been recognized as one the world's top universities. It is ranked 111th in the QS World University Rankings and ranked in the 301-350th in the THE World University Rankings
