Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) is a public university in Xi'an, Shaanxi, China. It is one of the Class A universities under the Ministry of Education's Double First Class University program. This initiative aims to produce world-class education institutions in China in the future. XJTU was founded in 1896 as the Nanyang Public School. The school underwent a series of transitions until it was changed as to Xi'an Jiaotong in 1950s.
XJTU is known for its programs in management, life sciences, engineering, and technology. Its School of International Education offers programs in aerospace, management, public policy, law, science, humanities, and engineering. The university has 20 schools, 8 undergraduate residential colleges, and 8 affiliated teaching hospitals.
