Undergraduate Admission Requirements

Requirements
  1. Senior high school student expecting to graduate before SY 2021-2022 from a DepEd-accredited high school or an accredited secondary school abroad; OR
  2. Graduate of a DepEd- accredited high school or accredited secondary school abroad; AND
  3. Must have final grades for Grade 8, 9, 10 and first semester of Grade 11;
  4. Must not have taken any college subject/s; AND
  5. Must not have taken the UP College Admission Test before.
 
Application
FILIPINO
  1. Fill out Application Form. (Manual application will only be available in selected regional areas. Contact +639189049195 or upcollegeapplications.oadms@up.edu.ph)
  2. Go to https://upadmissionsonline.up.edu.ph.
    1. You will need a valid email address for logging on to your application account and for receiving notifications about your application status and results.
    2. Please check if the email address you intend to register in order to file your application has not been compromised in a data breach. Kindly refer to https://haveibeenpwned.com/.
    3. We strongly encourage the use of secured e-mail accounts preferably with two-step verification to better protect your right to data privacy.
    4. When you create your account do not recycle or re-use passwords already associated with the email address you intend to register in order to secure your personal data.
    5. Please keep your access credentials secure.
    6. Do not create multiple accounts as these will cause much delay in accessing your application forms.
    7. You are required to read the UP Privacy Notice for Applicants for Freshmen Admissions Academic Year 2021-2022 before creating your account and filling out Form 1.
    8. Make sure you have a stable internet connection.
    9. Fill out Form 1 completely.
  3. The Online portal automatically forward a request to your high school principal/school head to fill out Form 2 (Secondary School Record)
  4. FOR NON-FILIPINO APPLICANTS ONLY: Pay the Application fee.
  5. Check if the completed Forms 1 and 2 and all other required documents are uploaded in the Online Portal.
FOREIGNER (By automatic admission)
An international applicant may apply for automatic admission if s/he meets the following requirements:
  1. Completion of a high school program in the country where s/he had secondary education (including the completion of a one- or two-year pre-university education in a country where such is a prerequisite for admission to a bachelor's degree program);
  2. Qualifications for college admission by any of the following national or international foreign-administered examinations: the SAT, OR the General Certificate of Education (GCE) Examination, OR the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB), OR other equivalent examinations approved by UP.
    1. SAT: (scores must not have been taken more than 4 years before application)
    2. GCE: 2 ordinary (O) level passes and 3 advanced (A) level passes; OR
    3. International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma
  3. In the case of an applicant whose native language or whose medium of instruction in the secondary school is not English, a minimum score (500 if paper based or 173 if computer based) in the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).

FILIPINO 
A duly accomplished application form must be submitted to the Graduate School together with the following documents:
  1. One (1) original and one (1) photocopy of Official Transcript of Record, in English language, for each college previously attended
- Undergraduate transcript is required for master’s degree applicants
- Undergraduate and master's degree transcript is required for PhD applicants
  1. One photocopy of each certificate or diploma received;
  2. Two accomplished recommendation form from former professors. If with a master’s degree, a third recommendation from the major professor is required. This must be sent to the Graduate School by separate mail or hand carried by the applicant or a representative in a sealed envelope. 
  3. A nonrefundable application fee of Php 500

         - JRS and LBC courier services

FOREIGN
A duly accomplished application form must be submitted to the Graduate School together with the following documents:

This must be sent to the Graduate School by separate mail, hand carried by the applicant or a representative in a sealed envelope or a pdf file emailed to admissions.gs.uplb@up.edu.ph.
  4. Certification of that English is the medium of instruction in previous degree/s by the University Registrar or results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
English Proficiency Examination
If English is not the medium of instruction or the TOEFL score is below 500, an applicant is required to take the English Proficiency Examination (EPE) in UPLB. This is to determine one's level of proficiency. The fee for EPE is P250. If the applicant’s level of proficiency is Level A, he/she is required to take the Level A English Intensive Course for a fee of P8000.
  
Application Fee
US$ 40 as application fee. Payment can be accepted through bank transfer to the Philippine National Bank with Account No.: 399-692-7000-21, Swift Code: PNBMPHMM payable to Graduate School. A copy of your bank transaction should be emailed to admissions.gs@up.edu.ph as proof of payment, the original bank transaction must be presented upon admission together with the original documents (TOR, Diploma, etc).
