About the Scholarship

Grants valued at $6,000 each will be awarded to students enrolled full-time in the third year of the one of the following programs:
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)(Civil)
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)(Civil and Structural)
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)(Civil and Project Management)
  • Bachelor of Construction Management and Economics (Honours)
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)(Mechanical and Mechatronic)
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)(Mechanical)
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)(Mechanical and Advanced Manufacturing)
Australian citizens, Permanent Residents or students on a Student Visa are eligible to apply. Applicants on a Student Visa must have sufficient working rights (a maximum of 40 hours per fortnight when their course is in session, and unlimited hours when their course is not in session) to participate in the Ahrens Graduate Program.
To be eligible to apply students must have a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 5.5 or higher.

Applicants will be asked to provide a personal written statement (500 words) detailing:
  • reasons for studying their current program
  • academic achievements
  • future career goals
  • why they would value the opportunity to take part in the Ahrens Graduate Program and what they would hope to gain from the experience.
Applicants will be assessed by a selection committee on the basis of academic merit, leadership potential, communication skills and problem solving aptitude.
