Benedictine International School (BIS), formerly Benedictine Abbey School of Quezon City, is a private co-educational institution founded in 2000.
The school offers a K-12 curriculum which is recognized by the Department of Education (DepEd). Its Senior High School (SH) program has three strands available for those who intend to study in the institution---General Academic Strand (GAS), Accountancy, Business and Management (ABM), and Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS).
Benedictine International School uses English as its primary medium of instruction. The school also provides an English for Second Language (ESL) Program, a program that enhances the English proficiency of students, especially those who are not native English speakers. In addition to English, the school conducts Korean language lessons for Grades 1-10 as well.
BIS is the front-runner of incorporating Systems Thinking in the educational system of the Philippines. Systems Thinking trains students to see the bigger picture and understand how certain parts affect one other thus allowing students to harness critical thinking. Aside from that, students are also trained to become flexible and find success in all avenues of the life.
Social Emotional Learning (SEL) program is another BIS program offering. This methodology pertains to the systematic classroom teaching of Emotional Intelligence. It teaches students about improving self-confidence, managing emotions and establishing healthy relationships.
Besides these programs, the Benedictine International School also has interesting clubs/organizations where students can join and hone their skills. A student may join in the Student Council, the Benedictine Chorale, Arts Club, Cooking Club or be part of the Athletic Teams (for Sports such as Basketball, Badminton, Taekwondo, and Table Tennis).
As an educational institution, BIS commits to mold its students into achievers, supplying them with the 5Cs (Commitment, Competence, Care, Confidence, and Communication) that will help them shine in their chosen paths.
