Divine Word College of Bangued (DWCB) is a private, Catholic school in the province of
Abra. It was founded in 1920 by Fr. Theodor Butterbruch of the
Divine Word Missionaries. Fr. Buttenbruch wanted to establish a Catholic school in the Bangued. Three years later, the administration was transferred to the Sister Servants of the Holy Spirit, who also offered their convent as additional classrooms for the school.
The college currently offers undergraduate courses under four school units:
Arts, Sciences, and Education; Business, Management, and Accountancy, Health Sciences; and,
Information Technology and Engineering. DWCB also has a
Graduate School department with degree courses in Education, Management, Teaching, and Business Administration. In addition to these higher education programs, the Divine Word College has a high school department, with curricula for both Junior High School (SHS) and Senior High School (SHS) levels. The SHS unit, specifically, has available strands under the
Academic and the
Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) tracks.
