Iloilo State University of Science and Technology, or formerly known as the
Iloilo State College of Fisheries (ISCOF), is a multi-campus state college situated in the province of
Iloilo. The main campus dates back its existence in 1957 when the Barotac Nuevo High School was converted into a school of fisheries known as the Central Iloilo National School of Fisheries (CINSOF) by the efforts of their former Congressman, Ricardo Y. Ladrido.
An expansion occurred in 1961 when the late Don Juan Paranpan donated a lot in
Tiwi, Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo, for the school to have their academic programs improve into the tertiary level. The expansion was successful and the school of fisheries as a higher educational institution started its operation when it offered a degree in Fisheries in 1971. Seven (7) years later, the school became a state college known as the Iloilo State College of FIsheries, and was again converted into the Iloilo State University of Science and Technology in 2013 by the virtue of
RA 10604. Now, the state university has different satellite campuses located in the municipalities of
San Enrique,
Dumangas,
Barotac Nuevo Poblacion, and
Dingle, Iloilo.
