Siargao Island Institute of Technology (SIIT) is a private higher education institute in
Dapa, Surigao del Norte. The school was an initiative of
Dr. Sol Matugas, the Caraga Regional Director of DepEd (then, DECS) in 1995. It opened in 1996 with course offerings of bachelor's degree programs in Elementary and Secondary Education and of an associate program in Computer Science. Over the years, SIIT added more programs to its list, like degree courses in Criminology, Office Administration, and Information Technology, a two-year Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN), and TVET courses.
At present, the institute offers undergraduate courses in
Teacher Education, Information Technology Computer Science, Office Administration, and
Tourism Management. It also offers programs for Senior High School (SHS) students, particularly the
ABM, HUMSS, HE, and
IA strands. Also available are
technical-vocational courses, like Bookkeeping, Healthcare Services, and Security Services, all which lead to a
National Certificate (NC) when finished.
