Siquijor State College (SSC) is a public higher educational institution in the
Municipality of Larena, Siquijor. It was established in 1920 by Lt. Governor Vicente Villanueva and started out as the Larena High School (LHS). The high school later became a vocational college and then was converted to a state college in 1994 through the
Republic Act No. 7947.
At present, Siquijor State College offers undergraduate courses in
Maritime Education, Criminology, Industrial and Information Technology, Business Management, and
Teacher Education. The college also has a
Graduate School department with degree programs in Educational Management, Industrial Education, and Public Management. Aside from these higher education programs, SSC also offers junior high school and senior high school. Interested SHS students are provided with
Academic and
Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) strands, including a
Maritime Specialization program.
