Make your dreams of becoming a pilot reality with an innovative aviation degree for international students that includes flight training.

The flight training component is offered in your first year of study through an elective course, Flight Experience. In this course you will log approximately 15-20 hours of dual flight time in a single engine airplane. You will also receive approximately 1-2 hours of solo flight time. Flight training is offered by our partner Flight Training Adelaide (FTA).

In your studies you will also learn aerodynamics, meteorology, navigation and flight planning in ultra-modern facilities. UniSA works in close partnership with industry and you will graduate ready to meet the growing global demand for pilots1.

What you'll need

For the flight training component of this degree, you must hold a minimum of a Class II Medical with at least 6 months validity. You must also remain compliant with the Aviation Academy’s Drug and Alcohol Management Plan (DAMP).

You will learn the very latest in aviation theory from academics, industry experts and flight instructors.

We emphasise hands-on, practical knowledge. For example, through our connection with the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) information service you can submit flight plans and access the latest aerodrome alerts and weather forecasts.

You will train in our state-of-the-art flight and airport simulators and learn on the latest industry software. Through this degree you will develop an in-depth knowledge of aerodynamics, aircraft power plants and systems, meteorology, navigation, flight planning, computer controlled flight management systems and flight operation technology.
