Bukidnon State University (BSU, BukSU) was founded in 1924 as the Bukidnon Provincial School. In 1929, the school was renamed to Bukidnon Normal School until 1976. It took on its third name, Bukidnon State College, until 2007. Finally, during the Macapagal-Arroyo Administration, the college garnered a university status and since then has been called Bukidnon State University.
BSU currently has 6 colleges with 33 undergraduate courses, focusing more on Education and Business Administration. In fact, it also has “Laboratory Schools,” which are training grounds for Education students where they take their on-the-job training. Graduate courses are also available at Bukidnon State University. They offer Masters in Education, Masters in Science Education, and Masters in Public Administration. Finally, Bukidnon State University has external study centers around the province of Bukidnon and the island of Mindanao.
