Central Luzon State University (CLSU) is a state university located in Nueva Ecija, Philippines. It was initially founded as the Central Luzon Agricultural School (CLAS) to promote agriculture and mechanics arts. CLAS was later converted to Central Luzon Agricultural College (CLAC) in 1954 and was called as “the mother of vocational agricultural schools” in the country. The institution was elevated to its university status in 1964.
Throughout the years, CLSU has been widely popular as an agriculture-oriented institution. It is the mission of Central Luzon State University to develop competent and value-laden individuals grounded with the relevant knowledge and skills in science and technology. Guided by the university’s framework for success, it is the vision of CLSU to be known as a world-class National Research University in agriculture and allied fields.
At present, CLSU is one of the premier institutions and one of the significant schools of Agriculture in Southeast Asia. It is designated by the Commission on Higher Education as the National University College of Agriculture and National University College of Fisheries. Its Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Biology, Fisheries, Teacher Education, and Veterinary Medicine are all Centers of Excellence.
