John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (JBLFMU) is a private educational and training institution known for its maritime programs. The institution started out in the 1930s as a review center for seafarers headed by Capt. Juan Bautista Lacson. It is also
the first maritime school in Visayas and Mindanao. The 8-hectare campus in Bacolod opened in 1976 with associate courses in Maritime Education. It was granted government recognition in 1984 for its maritime programs; later the bachelor's degree program in Customs Administration was added to its list of courses.
JBLFMU Bacolod currently offers degree courses in
Marine Transportation, Marine Engineering, Customs Administration, and Hospitality Management. New undergraduate programs include those in
Physical Education, Technology and Livelihood Education, Technical-Vocational Teacher Education, Mathematics, and Physics. Additionally, the Bacolod campus has Senior High School (SHS) program, with
Academic and
Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) strands available.
