In 1975, Manila Tytana Colleges (MTC), formerly known as Manila Doctors College, started with a three-year graduate nursing course. It then became a Metrobank Group partner in 1979. This partnership brought forth development not only institutionally but also academically. They have expanded their program from nursing to psychology, zoology, and pulmonary therapy degrees. Manila Doctors was then renamed to its current Manila Tytana Colleges in honor of the mother of Metrobank Group of Companies Chairman Dr. George Ty, Doña Victoria Ty-Tan.
Popular for their nursing college, Manila Tytana Colleges currently has other two colleges namely the College of Arts and Sciences, and College of Accountancy and Management. Through these colleges, the school provides bachelor degrees in communication, psychology, information technology, accountancy, entrepreneurship, and business administration. They also have a senior high program covering Academic Tracks and Technical-Vocational Livelihood Tracks. Students may also avail short courses in English proficiency, culinary arts, and foreign languages.
Manila Tytana Colleges has been consistent in maintaining a good passing rate in the Nursing Licensure Exam. Moreover, the Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) has given them a full Deregulated Status in 2003 and their nursing program has been recognized by the Philippine Accrediting Association of School, Colleges, and Universities (PAASCU) as a Level II program.
