Sacred Heart College (SHC) is a private, Catholic school in Lucena, Quezon Province. It was founded in 1884 and is the oldest co-educational Catholic institution in the province. The founder, Hermana Fausta Labrador, wanted to build a Charity school for the youth, especially the less fortunate, and have them develop in the Catholic faith. Hermana Uta, as she was called, passed the administration of the school to the Daughters of Charity in 1937. Four years later, the school was recognized as a college when Junior Normal Courses were opened.
The institution currently offers degree courses in Communication, Psychology, Accountancy, Computer Science, Nursing, Pharmacy, Business Administration, and Teacher Education. SHC also has a Graduate School department with programs in Education and Nursing. The Integrated Basic Education Department includes a Senior High School (SHS) program that offers the ABM, HUMSS, and GAS strands.
Guided by the core values, it is the continuous goal of Sacred Heart College to be a Christ-centered educational institution. The school is committed to empowering communities of learners, pursuing the value of innovative educational programs, and accelerating leadership and professional development through continuing education and intensive Vincentian Formation.
