Asian Institute of Maritime Studies (AIMS) is a non-stock educational institute which offers relevant, excellent, accessible learning environment in corporate and maritime education, and training services. Founded in 1993 by Capt. Wilijado P. Abuid and his colleagues, AIMS envisions to be the home of maritime knowledge exchange: the provider, investment, and employer of choice. It is located at Roxas Blvd cor. A. Arnaiz Ave., and A. Arnaiz Ave. cor. F.B. Harrison st., Pasay City.
AIMS offers Bachelor of Science (BS) in Marine Transportation (BSMT), BS in Marine Engineering (BSME), and BS in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering (BSNAME) in the College of Maritime Education and Training. BSMT is a 4-year course which trains a student to become a competent officer-in-charge or a manager of Navigational watch. BSME is designed to train a student to become a competent officer-in-charge or a manager in Engineering watch. BSNAME is a 5-year course which covers the design, construction, maintenance of ships, boats, and related equipment.
In the College of Business and Training, it offers BS in Customs Administration (BSCA), BS in Business Administration (BSBA), BS in Computer Science (BSCS), and BS in Hotel and Restaurant Management (BSHRM). BSCA is a 4-year course for students inclined to shipping and tariff systems, customs brokerage operations, and intricacies of export/import taxation. BSBA is a 4-year course designed to produce graduates who are competent for the global business. BSCS is a 4-year course which gives students expertise to the demands of Information Technology. BSHRM is a 4-year course which guarantees students to be efficient, competent and globally competitive in their chosen field.
AIMS also have a graduate school which offers PhD in Maritime Administration, Master in Customs Administration (MCA), and Master in Maritime Administration (MARAD) specializing in Maritime Education; Training and Certification Administration Port; Safety & Environmental Protection Administration; Shipping & Ship Manning Business Administration; Ship Board Admin (Deck Stream); and Ship Board Admin (Engine Stream).
In the 24 years of AIMS, it does not fail to produce board passers and topnotches. It continues to produce competent and efficient graduates that contribute to the betterment of the world.
