Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU), formerly known as Don Honorio Ventura College of Arts and Trades (DHVCAT), is a public university system established in 1861 as
Escuela de Artes y Oficios de Bacolor. In 2009, it officially became a university through the
Republic Act 9832 signed by then President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, and was then renamed to its present institution name through the
Republic Act 11169. The institution is said to be one of the oldest vocational schools in the Far East and was named in honor of philanthropist and Bacolor native
Don Honorio Ventura.
DHVSU has four campuses in Pampanga---Bacolor (main campus),
Mexico,
Lubao,
Porac, and
Sto. Tomas. The school offers undergraduate and graduate programs covering various disciplines, ranging from
industrial technology up to
social work. It also has a senior high school (SHS) program offering both the
technical-vocational-livelihood (TVL) and
academic tracks.
