Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) is a province-wide university system established in 2004 through the integration of the Tomas Oppus Normal College and the Southern Leyte State College of Science and Technology which made possible by the enactment of
Republic Act 9261. At present, It has four (4) campuses in the municipalities of
Tomas Oppus,
San Juan,
Hinunangan, and
Bontoc.
The SLSU opens its doors for students who are looking to pursue their undergraduate degree in the fields of
Engineering, Industrial Technology, Teacher Education, Criminology, Hospitality Management, and
Computer Studies. In addition to these programs are graduate and post-graduate education in
Teaching, Management, Technology Education, Information Technology, and
Technology Management.
Since its establishment, the university has continued expanding its programs in response to the needs of the community. It established the
SLSU Journals Online, an open journal system (OJS) that provides intensive research journals across various topics from education, engineering, and science and technology.
